Candy Bar Caramels
1 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans
1 cup chocolate chips
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup water
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 tsp vanilla
Line an 8 1/2 x 11 cake pan with foil; butter lightly.
Sprinkle the pecans & chocolate chips evenly over the
foil.
In a heavy saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter,
corn syrup & water; bring to a boil; add the
sweetened condensed milk; cook to the firm-ball stage (248 degrees.)
Stir in vanilla & pour over the chips & nuts
Allow to cool.
